Airport lighting systems, also known as Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL), play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of aircraft operations during night time and low-visibility conditions. These systems include a range of lights installed on runways, taxiways, aprons, and approach paths to provide visual guidance to pilots during landing, takeoff, and ground movements.

Key components of airport lighting include:

Runway Edge and Centerline Lights – Outline and guide aircraft on the runway.

Taxiway Lights – Indicate taxi paths between the runway and apron.

Approach Lighting Systems (ALS) – Help pilots align with the runway during final approach.

PAPI (Precision Approach Path Indicator) – Provides vertical guidance for safe descent.

Apron Floodlights – Illuminate aircraft parking and service areas.

Obstruction and Beacon Lights – Mark tall structures to avoid collisions.

Modern airport lighting systems are designed to comply with international standards such as those set by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization)

LED Solar Airport Airfield Aerodrome Elevated Insert Runway Taxiway Edge Threshold Light

Product Description

1) Introduction
Elevated vertical airport lights are navigation aid lamps installed on both sides and extension lines at both ends of runway and taxiway, which are used to indicate the outline of the airport. These areas are far away from the runway and are not easy to be touched by aircraft tires during airport operation. Therefore, the lamps installed in these areas can be no more than 350mm higher than the pavement.

Airport PAPI Lights

1) Introduction
1.1) Introduction to Precision Approach Path Indication (PAPI) System
The PAPI system is used to guide the aircraft to approach the runway at the appropriate altitude. The top half of the PAPI beam is white and the bottom half is red. Within the visible range, the lamps with different elevation angles in the PAPI system enable the pilot to see different combinations of red and white light at different altitudes. The pilot judges and adjusts the altitude of the aircraft through the combination of beams seen, so that it is at a suitable approach altitude.
1.2) PAPI and and APAPI systems
The PAPI system consists of four precision approach course indicators. The system guides the pilot of the aircraft to approach the runway at the appropriate altitude through the different angle indications issued by the four indicators. The APAPI system consists of two precision approach course indicators. The system guides the pilot of the aircraft to approach the runway at the appropriate altitude through the different angle indications issued by the four indicators.

2) Features
Precision approach course indicator structure
A single light unit consists of a light body assembly and three brackets.
The light body assembly is mainly composed of an upper cover, front glass plate, box body, lens, color filter, light bulb and its bracket. The light body assembly provides positioning and protection of optical components for the optical system of the light.
The bracket assembly is composed of flanges, easy-to-break parts, extension rods, screws, nuts, and washers. The brackets are used to support the light body and control and adjust the height and elevation angle of the light body.
